Bradley Hooten, a Cypress Ranch senior, has been nominated to be the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society Student of the Year for his commitment to LLS, the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. Strong in his Christian faith, the young man gives freely of his time and effort in memory of his dad, who succumbed to Leukemia in 2001, when Bradley was just 20 months old. “We are pulling out all stops in this. I need all the help I can get to represent, in my Dad’s honor and memory, to be the face of a cure for Leukemia. My Dad fought hard for his life, and I want to fight just as hard to win this,” says Hooten determinedly. Bradley’s goal is to be able to name a research grant in his Dad’s name.
Bradley’s fundraising campaign kicks off January 19, and runs for a six-week period, through March 2nd. He is requesting assistance with his campaign through company and community sponsorships. An online donations page, community fundraising events, t-shirt sales, and Facebook live videos are all in the works as integral elements of his campaign. “Together, we can Triumph against cancer!” asserts Hooten resolutely.
