Billed as “An American restaurant featuring regionally inspired dishes with a healthy twist,”
National Treasure Restaurant & Bar is locally owned and operated by military veterans Frank and
Katherine Stanley. The couple makes every effort to buy local ingredients, including meats, for their
menu.
Chef selections provide a repertoire of culinary offerings that are varied, interesting, and ever changing.
Bar food, paired with an array of beer and wine offerings, include Gulf Shrimp and Black Bean Fritters
and Oklahoma Bull Fries, as well as fresh cut fries, served crisp, with European, French and Greek
influences.
Brunch Saturdays and Sundays begins at 9 a.m., with dishes such as Sunrise Breakfast Pizza with fried
egg, sausage, bacon and tomatoes, Chicken and Waffles, and Biscuits with Gravy.
Lunch patrons may opt for a Bison Burger with carmelized onions and applewood smoked bacon or
house cured/smoked peppercorn Pork Belly Sandwiches. Fresh pizza dough is made daily for pizzas such
as the Red Sea pizza with pesto, feta, and artichokes, or the Winnebago, with everything on it. Regulars
recommend the Deviled Eggs, an old favorite made new with dill and capers. Patrons describe the
Chicken Fried Steak as “tender, with a light, crispy batter.” Cypress Foodie, Stacy Tran, is a fan. “The
cream gravy is awesome. They make it as you order it, so it may take some time. Their homemade ranch
is the best I’ve had,” she adds.
Lynda Thuy Nguyen attended the Fall Creek wine dinner recently and was impressed with the upscale
fare. “Their glazed Texas quail with sweet potatoes and farro was really delicious. The quail was tender
and moist, with a hint of sweetness. The dinner and service was excellent.”
Vegetarians have choices such as thick cut cauliflower, seasoned and grilled with truffle aioli and served
with mushroom risotto. The chef will accommodate gluten free and dairy free restrictions; sandwiches
are served on Udi’s bread.
