Joshua and Kathleen Cummings were residents of Cypress, Texas, “off and on, from 2007 to 2015.” When they learned of the plans for the Towne Lake construction, their interest peaked. “As the lake, clubhouse, and waterpark were completed, we knew we wanted to be part of the community when we moved back to Cypress in 2015.”

A beauty from the sunshine state, Kathleen spent her formative years in Tampa, Florida. She studied at the University of Central Florida, and, in 2005, received a Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communications and Organizational Communications. Josh grew up in a small town right outside of Shreveport/Bossier, Haughton, Louisiana. In 2002, Josh earned a Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University in Industrial Engineering. He was awarded a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering in 2007, and an MBA from Mississippi State University in 2010.

Josh and Kathleen’s paths crossed in 2006, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. “We were both out of college, working in our early years, and met through some mutual friends,” recalls Josh. It didn’t take long for the couple to realize that they were meant to be together. “We were married in 2007, at the Sand Pearl Resort, on Clearwater Beach, Florida.”

Josh began working at CenterPoint Energy Electric in 2007. Employed as a Key Accounts Director, the industrial engineer has filled several roles within Electric and Gas Engineering and Operations. “We have also been able to have wonderful experiences living in Oxford, Mississippi and Little Rock, Arkansas while being a part of the CenterPoint family,” explains Cummings. His favorite leisure activities include “Sports, deer hunting, golf, fishing, and just playing with the kids.”

Kathleen is a stay at home wife and mother to their five-year-old triplets, Kaitlyn, Haley, and Hunter. While the task may be daunting, this loving mother enjoys the support and comradery of women in the Northwest Houston Mothers of Multiples. She takes pleasure in serving as Children’s Leader with Bible Study Fellowship, delights in cheering for all Houston sport teams, and getting together with friends for Girls’ Nights.

The Cummings children are accustomed to turning heads wherever they go; they are a trio of lively, inquisitive five-year-old triplets. Kaitlyn and Haley, little blonde-haired, blue eyed beauties, are difficult to tell apart. “There is a difference in their faces; one is a bit fuller,” offers mom, Kathleen. Brother, Hunter, a copper-headed cutie, is filled with energy, befitting his age. The children attend the Pre-K Class at Cornerstone United Methodist Church Preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“My favorite part of Cornerstone is Music Class! I love playing games and singing in music. At home, I like playing at the park and riding my bike on just two wheels,” shares Kaitlyn. Swinging on the playground at Cornerstone is Hunter’s favorite activity. “I like riding my bike without training wheels or going to play at a park!” Like her siblings, Haley loves going to the park. “I like having tea parties. At Cornerstone, I like writing my letters and making crafts.”

A proud father, Josh has no problem with showing his paternal pride. “The kids have really enjoyed doing Head Start to Reading through BOOST Early Learning Center. They LOVE learning their sight words and being word detectives. I’ve enjoyed watching them LOVE to learn and think it’s great they will have a Head Start to their sight words.”

The Cummings family cherishes family memories of trips that they have taken, as well as simple family outings. “We love our annual vacations to Disney World and Ocean Isle Beach. We have had a lot of great memories together but these two places are magical! Closer to home, the family takes pleasure in “Most anything outside: the park, pool, beach, and boat days on the lake. We enjoy anything and everything at The Boardwalk. It’s so convenient and always seems to have something going on.” Their favorite restaurants? “The Cheese Bar and MOD Pizza,” comments Cummings.

Josh and Kathleen view the move to the Towne Lake community as a positive one. “This has been a great place for us to live with our young kids because there are plenty of activities, parks, pools, and fun times to enjoy. We really enjoy living in a lake community and the neighbors have become lifelong friends.”
